deep combat for a brawler in 1992. levels aren't too long. just enough variety in enemies and locations. probably the best console brawler of the 4th generation.

It had a taste of house and all the other dance subgenres from the time period. Somebody post that video of the music comparisons to real songs. Its fun stuff.

While the story wasn't innovative it wasn't complicated bullshit either. Controls were good for its time and they only got better and better as the series progressed. Hell I still play the remake from time to time on my PSP.

Great aesthetics, good character variety each plays very differently, enemies are well designed and fun to fight, good moveset balance (besides GRASSHOPPER), bosses aren't as bullshit as usual in the genre, higher difficulties are intense as fuck.

It's slow as fuck. No pits or hazards, 3 has deeper combat mechanics, 2 has the least memorable bosses and most boring middle game, worst roster. 2s soundtrack is better than 3 but worse than 1.
