You know that actually makes sense, and what I like to think happened. You can clearly notice how at the end of the latest three chapters, when you enter the pillar of light, the party sounds like they know what they're doing, that they're dooming yet another Norende in the next world, but that's must be done.
But then during Airy's reveal scene in Chapter 8, the main characters still acting all surprised. I just pretend the devs forgot to update a placeholder scene meant for the false ending before the game's release.
