The best "story" mode in an NFS game is the career tree in Hot Pursuit 2. The whole thing is still arcade-y af. Seriously, the car hits the truck at the beggining and takes no damage? The story is post-FnF3 tier, the cars are the same, the gameplay stolen from the Crew, and gameplay is perhaps the only thing that makes the game sufferable. The acting is crap, like in previous games, but not crap in a "so bad, it's good" way, ala Most Wanted, just plain shit, not to mention the characters being shit. NFS died with Carbon, the last game with the whole team working on it, as opposed to bits and pieces. ProStreet was good gameplay wise, but that's about it. I'll maybe pirate the game at some point, hoping that I'll be proven wrong.
