I made a character in EvE, played until I finished Sisters of Eve missions and... Then nothing. The game is just utterly boring. It's like staring at grey windows wallpaper and imagining things.

How do I get to started with 'questing'? Where are story mission chains? It's just really boring.

EvE is just good for the stories, the gameplay is tailored for middle-aged men with social and mental problems, 7 out of 10 players are on the autism spectrum and the last 3/10 are bots.

EVE is a sandbox, and there's really no reason to quest/mission except for learning the game. If you can pilot your ship effectively and understand what ship ranges are, you can PvP.

I played EvE for about 8 months many years ago (long before removal of implants/books/ect), how the fuck are you doing so much damage with a single small laser? I remember flying around in my hurricane, at best range in low sec and still taking forever to kill almost anything (and vice versa, smaller stuff would need to pink away for 10m to bring me down once they webbed me).

Noob mistake most Eve players make is just selecting Orbit @ Range and turning their guns on. Eve PVP is nearly all about range dictation. Get your enemy in a position where you can shoot them and they cant shoot back and you win.

As a result the good PVPers in Eve are generally the guys with Korean-tier micro and clicking.

I'm a huge fan of space games and sci fi and I've loved almost every space game I've gotten my hands on that lets me pick a ship and fly around and do stuff.

EVE just had too much barriers of entry, slow progression and cookie cutter skinner box gameplay, I simply didn't see the purpose other than to have a sandbox where to interact with other people. As far as gameplay went, the game was not very fun.

There are other modules than turrets. It's all about flying so that yours are within range of the other ship, and that your turrets are at an acceptable angle and speed between your ship and the other's. The turrets auto-firing is just good game design at that point. They still have to be managed for overheating and, potentially, capacitor.

Only reason I quit is because of the time required. Not so much the fact that it needs you often, just when it does you can expect to be sitting for a few hours when you do play. It takes time to travel to where you want to do stuff, it takes time to look for enemies to kill, and it takes time to travel back to somewhere safe. Outside of the weekends, I don't really have a whole lot of time to devote to a long, uninterrupted vidya session.

I think that's one of the reasons missions and similar PvE content holds as much popularity as it does, not solely because of the ease of victory in it, but because you can plop down in a hub, pick up a mission as soon as you log on, and then immediately jump into the action with whatever ship you want to use. Roams, faction warfare, long range exploration, and a lot of other stuff to do has a much longer lead time to get going and makes no promises that you'll even see something to do.

I can find a "fight" in a few minutes, but not really a good one. Most of the time, it's small groups looking to dumpster wandering ships with the occasional loner that does provide a nice challenge. Sometimes, I can go up to 30 minutes or longer just jumping from system to system looking for a brawl in my Kestral. Every once in a blue moon, I can be on for several hours and see nothing to engage so I wind up taking on a gatecamp just to suicide and get back home.

I joined a couple of groups during my time, first one was pretty good but very structured and I didn't have a whole lot of time to devote to them, the second one was also good and did roams every few nights, but those usually lasted several hours and had us hopping through wormhole after wormhole so it was important to stick with the group to have a path home if you wanted to preserve your ship.

Star Shittizen purity fags want "muh realism" so 3rd person and what they call "arcade controls" (meaning non-autism simulator controls aka. good controls) aren't allowed.
I actually got banned from the forums for suggesting the devs add a 3rd person HUD because 1st person makes me nauseous.

Microsoft Freelancer is honestly one of the most underrated games of all time, its practically unknown to a lot of people.
If you wanna get it play it vanilla first with the widescreen hack (just google it), then if you wanna play multiplayer get the Discovery Mod.

How the FUCK do i get it to work on windows 10?
None of the fucking compatibility options works, i get either a black screen or a crash every time.
The absolute most i've gotten is to kill a few skeletons before a diablo has stopped working pops up.

Because isk faucets are easy now everyone knows the meta and can use capitals to mine/mission.

Getting a super is the easiest thing now also since you can trade them without needing to risk or find a middle man in keepstars for less than 8 bil if you know where to look.
