Exactly. The movesets in DOA is just so wild and full of energy, and I love how you can play aggressively. I haven't played Tekken in a long time but I kinda dislike how stilted you are unless you memorize the moveset list here. I'm still learning the basics, but I can't honestly say that I'm really having as much fun as in DOA. Kazumi in arcade already made me lose my shit until I learned it was easier to just block and bait her than actually fight agressively.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

Actually haven't gone into any episodes yet, just pointing out the way Ace Combat does it is full live action videos or similar with the characters.

In AC5 the journalist is actually on base with the main characters as a non-combatant.
In 0 he interviews all of the major pilots in live action cutscenes, with branching story variants of each video.

By comparison Tek7 is a bit low budget.

Playing Akuma is so fucking wierd. He feels almost exactly like his SF4 incarnation, yet at the same time he feels really alien and bizarre. His lows are the weirdesg shit in a Tekken game. Same as his jumping normals.

No. Different characters have different inputs for RAs for some reason. What stupid is that some characters only need to press two buttons for theirs but others have to do what I mentioned despite there being no difference in damage.

When it fucking requires you to stand still and press really hard it is fucking input lag. Other fighting games lets you pull off specials way easier without having to break your buttons. It sometimes feel like it has input qeues like Dark Souls that if you press buttons really fast, your character goes crazy and does a lot of random shit you don't want.
