I bought Rev + Rev 2 and decided I want to learn what's going on in the story.

Ky's got gear powers and has apparently not gone all out victory-or-death mode on Sol before. I'm sure Sol doing the same would still beat him, though.

Because when I tried playing Revelator last year, I could only find matches on the east coast and the connections were 8f delay at best. I'm not going to buy an expansion so I can spend more time trying to get a good connection than playing the game.

Because they fucked the PC netcode again and I'm waiting for the eventual patch that they're somehow unable to maintain between revisions despite having fixed it twice before.

If you don't use her parries, you're better off just using someone else, it's the advantage that sets her apart.
Her air normals are pretty good, but stuff like 6P and slash buttons in ground need a buff imo.
Her mixup is weak in corner without meter if your opponent knows the matchup and pressure isn't that scary.
She has bottom 3 HP iirc.
I don't think she is bottom tier but you definitely need to utilize her parries if you want to beat good players

How can you state characters' tiers if you're beginner? The problem is game design here. If you make a character with certain idea but that idea isn't working - you're doing something wrong. Character may be very strong without the gimmick, just like Raven - his stance was very weak and rarely used. But instead of fixing it they just did some weird changes to mechanic. I just don't like how Baiken who had very unique playstyle before now just another character with weird gimmick. She may be shit tier or god tier, that's not the point.

There are no characters in Xrd that force you to fundamentally change your playstyle - the idea is still to get in and rush the shit out of your opponent, in a one way or another.
You couldn't do that against old Baiken and people didn't like it. It sucks when you get the pressure but you feel like your opponent might DP any time she wants even in blockstun.
Like I said multiple times, I think the red parry window should be increased, but you can still do all kinds of shit with parry. I even get a red parry once every few rounds and I'm new to the character.
Looks like we just have to agree to disagree about the changes, it feels like you're an old Baiken main who's mad he actually has to learn how to defend like the rest of the cast

Baiken damage is great, but she effectively has on no okizeme or set ups besides IAD tatami, TK yonsansen, cross up yonsansen, and iad strings. She has telegraphed and slow zoning, and kinda stubby normals for setplay-less character comparable to other ones like sin or faust. All of her big mix ups require meter too, making her a hefty meter hog meaning she is a bit of glass cannon since her hp (one of) the lowest in the game and shouldn't spend resources defensively. You gotta learn her azami. The character is a lot worse if you ignore it.

You asked what was unique about it and I told you about. Baiken is still extremely new too. Back when raven was new, people playing him and literally ignored his excite mechanic, and that shit (character included) is WAY easier to understand. Look at how oppressive raven can be now? Baiken is a low tier, Japan is an arcade enviroment. People are slow to adopt low tiers overthere. Dizzy and Jam were almost never seen save 1 or 2 respectively. Baiken has a lot of casual players, but only a few competitive players.

Idk if anyone is subscribed to Jonio's youtube channel, but his stream showcased a Jam that did about a 55% combo on Slayer with a maxed card dragon kick from IAD axe kick, that also gave 50% meter from nothing. I'll try webming it if the streams weren't fucking 5+ hours long.

Injustice 2 wasn't out at posting, nor tekken. Both are also new games, with the last two games out quite awhile ago. and marvel is a dead solved game only a small dedicated community plays.

Rev is extremely popular for airdasher, and rev only came out here a little more than a year ago, with rev 2 dropping (dropped) shortly after. Community is very tightly knit too. We -all- want rev to succeed so everyone tries to bring in as many people as possible, local or otherwise.

I learned doing Jam's basic trial 10 combo, went to practice it and I found this out I couldn't do it without seeing my inputs / checking off the list.

This might sound autistic, but keep a combo journal. Write it out, jump onto training mode, break it down into smaller parts (this is the dust combo, right? do it up until the jump cancel first, once you get that down, slowly add the next few moves), eventually you'll be able to do it from memory. As you get better at the game and understand her gatlings and whatnot, you'll be able to improvise the combo for different effects. For example, maybe it has a different route for better meter gain, or higher damage output by ending it with her carded kicks to end out a round. Just keep practicing it and don't forget to try it against real players.

Basic strings like 2k c.s 2d are usually vitally core strings, Blitz crumples aren't bad, all the dust combos are fine, and everyone's advance trees usually have some practically useful to bnb stuff. for sol weight anyway. Combos really need to add combo specific for the dummy, at least for the weight classes.
