A more accurate story comparison would be the stories in velen/novigrad/skellige.

Havent even finished 3 yet but whenever I boot it up even months later I still enjoy the shit out of it. 2 did have great writing and all but felt like the rough print that 3 managed to smooth out on all accords.

I did.

W3 was great, but the wide open world naturally wasn't as intricate and detailed as W2. I also personally feel that the plot was more engaging, with a lot more difficult choices to make, while W3 just sort of threw you into an environment where you were just an observer for the most part.

It had shitty Souls-like combat that doesn't fit with the lore of the universe (where Geralt is a swift swordsman who essentially dances rather than slowly rolling) which was broken by the fact that hitting an enemy depends on looking at them rather than your sword having a hitbox, lack of lock on that leads to no strafing around your enemy and the backstab bonus which exacerbates the lack of lock on and strafing by deleting half your health bar.

Witcher 2 only purpose is to serve as a why shit in Witcher 3 is happening and to show off pretty graphics. Witcher 1 was atleast a continuation from the books after Geralt dies and helps familiarize people to the franchise.

currently playing 2 after finishing 1 and i don't really like it as much. main character has amnesia IN A FUCKING SEQUEL. everything is streamlined for console babies while still feeling like a clunky euro wrpg.

And probably a couple others I'm forgetting in a much shorter game than 3. There's a couple like the tree spirit, the tower ghost, and the maiden's spirit caught in the tree in the DLC, but otherwise not a whole lot iirc. which is a bit disappointing. Those were always my favorite.

Witcher 3 is the best looking RPG sure but I'd say that Battlefront is the best looking game overall so far. Witcher 3 definitely does really well in the animation department though since they focus on a lot of small things like eye movement, facial muscles, gestures etc. during conversations

yeah it looks fucked up at times. i found that running downsampling from 1440p gets rid or the shimmering and dithering in the shadows. the depth of field setting makes it look really nice still today imo

I actually handed my swords over like a dumbass, but in my defense not handing over weapons when a game asks you to, usually ends with you failing part of a quest or needing to fight your way through.

I refused my swords everytime. Either it's OK, or the game railroads you into it.

I've only played Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (I've got A Link Between Worlds, OoT, and MM for 3DS, and Skyward Sword for the WiiU though), but Wind Waker is way too easy and empty to be enjoyable. My main problem with 2 is that the acts of the story feel somewhat disjointed as hell compared to the first game. At least you get to have a nice variety of storylines depending on your actions.
