they'd honestly make the fight at least three times better if they just upped his defence/health. I know people who just used the dodge slash the whole time and never saw phase 2 of the fight

I didn't really understand the slicing mechanic, I didn't realize you just let go of the stick and he swipes, I thought you flick the stick to make him swipe. So I couldn't actually hit the arms with any kind of precision

because of that I just did chip damage to him while he stayed fully shielded through the whole fight and I never even saw his second phase because you can bring him to zero like that

It took me like 4 playthroughs before I saw the second phase. It made 100% more sense to me to just do the dodge attack on his shields or just jump over and hit him in the back.
