How did a low budget 3DS rehash manage to be better than Persona 5?
I wouldn't say it's better, but it's very good.
P5 is a more cohesive package that focuses more on structuring, pacing, and characters. SMTIVA arguably has better gameplay and exploration, but the characters and story really bog it down.

The bar isn't exactly high with Persona.
Just write a plot, do some pretty 3d models around it, and you're golden.
SMT requires substance though, and killing your friends.

None of them were ever my friends in the first place so it's more appropriate to say I killed the chodes who were following me around and stealing my press turns throughout the game. Massacre ending was still shit though. The whole story was though so I shouldn't have been surprised.
