The only bad one is the Tiny Tonitrus. Spells are pretty scarce early on, too, which is another problem. Every other tool, however, is amazing. You'll kick a lot of ass once you get them on an ARC build.

Kos Parasite fists have great AR with flat gems, but only at certain levels where other weapons can't totally outdo it. Doing kos parasite for fist moveset is garbage at high levels because of this, but at low level, it's AR is on par with anything else including other twink weapons, so it's pretty fun to have a build where you can just invade forest or old yarnham and literally slap people to death

Blunt and thrust are attack types that all enemies have. Typically, blunt weapons do a lot of damage, but a lot of enemies also have a lot of blunt resistance. Meanwhile most things are generally weak to thrust.

It's up to you really. Personally I used the kirkhammer in hammer mode almost all the time. Sure it was blunt damage, sure a lot of enemies resist blunt. But they can't resist knockdown and stagger, and the kirkhammer is super fucking good for knockdown and stagger

ashen chest, white church hood, henryk boots, either graveguard manchettes or henryk gloves. has a nice post apocalyptic feel to it. gets full mad max with the knee brace on that one pair of pants.

What I did was use the saw spear. After bloodstarved beast you can get your first gem from the brainsucker in the bottom area you drop down to past the old workshop. Then you can get two more fire gems by doing the first chalice twice. After that you'll have to get your better fire gems from deeper chalices or stick it out until Mensis and farm the three winter lanterns on the bridge there for and hope to get cursed fire gems. Then better ones from the very end of the DLC from two more winter lanterns in the caverns if you haven't switched to the holy moonlight sword by then. Or use the kos parasite after you beat the final DLC boss and have done everything and there's nothing to use it on but chalices or NG+. Arcane builds are strong but the options are poor and it's not all that fun when your build can't even really be played until late game.
