Well there's a reason for the Wii u currently with stuff like XCX, #FE (yes it's good, even if it's the most light hearted MT has been), TW101, Bayo 2, SM3DW, and Pikmin 3 (all assuming you don't own a PC). That said, XCX, Bayo 2 (in an inevitable 2+3 bundle), and #FE ports are all but guaranteed at this point. I agree that it's not worth it to buy a Wii u anymore, but if you're not buying a switch (people that swear off any console no matter what are stupid tho) and have a shitty PC you might as well

I don't like MS. I feel super burned on the xbone because I only got MCC, Halo 5, gears remastered, and sunset overdrive on Xbone and then everything else ended up on PC so I got it there. BUT WITH THAT SAID, when MS was going to pull always online it's very likely Sony was going to as well based on some leaks. But because of the negative reaction to MS announcing it, Sony canceled their plans pre-emptively and basically won over the entire west by doing so. Without competition, both companies would have just gone through with it, because who the hell is going to stop them?

Completion is necessary for a healthy industry. Even if I don't like MS, They're necessary to keep Sony in check.
The switch is super iffy though. It's between console and handheld so it remains to be seen how it's affected by Sony, at least until the successor. I would welcome outside completion like apple or Samsung jumping into the mobile console scene though.

That's $39.50 for the main circuit components, bought one-off; buying in bulk would probably reduce the cost by 50%. I'm not in the industry, so I don't know what the cost is for all the other components (caps, resistors, etc.) nor to get the board made, but IIRC it's not too expensive: probably $10 for the components and the board ($3 components, $7 board).

That's not counting the cost of making the buttons and the case for the controller, but the cost of materials is probably relatively low, discounting the cost of the mold. Based on the weight of a switch controller (~50g) minus the weight of the rumble motor (~5g), and the cost of 3d printer material ($25/kg), I'll estimate ~$5 for materials.

So, assuming Nintendo bought everything as expensive as possible, the cost of a controller is $55. So I could probably do it.

It's fun if you can stand that type of music for long periods of time. For a while it's quite exhilarating after you get those tutorial parts down. Once you get into the habit of going for perfect turns, it gets fairly difficult. You'll get the hang of this pretty quickly if you were any good at Rhythm Heaven or Guitar Hero.

Stages are made up of little sessions that get ranked individually by your performance. If you're going for a perfect run, you can restart or move back to a previous session if you fuck up, but that's a good way to frustrate the hell out of you if you keep missing certain parts over and over again.

My only gripe is it's not as scary as people make it out to be, but that's just me.
