The game is good OP if you get used to the turn based battle mechanics.

The Digimon Story games are pretty fun. Not the best Digimon game, has some flaws, but solid and fun overall. Biggest issue are the required missions unrelated to the plot you need to do to progress.

Also you can start out with SkullGreymon, which is awesome.

I heard the translation patch was dropped, but I'm not sure if that's true or if it's still being worked on. IIRC they weren't going to release it until the translation was 100% complete.

It was pretty good until the postgame. Just putting in four new digimon, and making their levels so exceptionally high that you simply needed to grind on one to reach the next, was exceptionally boring. The way the Elemental EXP/digivolve system worked also discouraged you from using new digimon outside the ones you beat the game with. I'm glad I used Angemon to beat the final boss, because I sure as hell wasn't getting 7777 Holy EXP from the game any other way.

Are the Wonderswan games any fun, and do they have english patches?

No they aren't translated. I'd recommend D-Project, it's mini-Digimon World where you have three partners. It's also the only game where each Digimon can be Virus/Data/Vaccine.

The translation patch wasn't dropped, and it's almost done. They're also juggling it with their translation of ReDigitize Decode and real life stuff, but I think Lost Evolution will be out by the end of the year.
