Zack ;-;
I don't really cry in games, or anything for that matter. I do have one weakness though, and that is loyalty or respect when in danger. I'm bone dry when a loved one gets slaughtered but all a guy has to do is hold a fucking door to save someone and I'm tearing up. So any game that concentrates on the loyalty of a person fucking kills me. I didn't feel much in MGS3 but that scene where Snake saluted at Big Boss's grave got the waterworks going.I worry I don't cry enough. I haven't wept yet for my cousin that passed away last year. The most I've cried in recent years was watching a video of a guy taking his dog in to have him put down. After they administer the shot and the dog is dead, he's still holding onto him when his wife says "He's gone, let him go, he's gone." I have no idea why that killed me but hearing a loved one died young did not.
This one fucked me up.
Didn't cry but for some reason the judge walking alone with Somewhere over the rainbow playing almost got me

>>378782954
only one
>>378792698
It isn't wrong to think that way, everyone sees death in their own way and deals with it according to that.
I have the same worry, I do feel sad but have felt like I am not 'bothered' enough by death. I still loved them and I don't need to outwardly show it to know that.
My weakness is redemption arcs, seeing someone drag themselves out of a pit and do that one good deed in their life. A man who is absolute scum and somehow unexpectedly managing to deny everything they were for one glorious second before the end breaks me.
Tales of Xillia 2.
MGS2. Solidus' death.
MGS3. Big Boss at the Boss' headstone.
MGS4. Big Boss' death.
>>378790452
I replayed his SA a few years back and the plot hit me significantly more than it did as a child. SA2's ending too, although that didn't really matter since Shadow didn't really die.

Japanese games usually have themes of friendship, comradery, existentialism and having purpose in life and the execution of these themes are quite well done and resonate with most players.
MW2 was an emotional roller coaster. The death of Roach and Ghost is probably one of the most memorable moments.

>>378805594
Yep. Also his parents died in a car accident and the villain was only trying to prevent him from waking up as he knew if he did everything would be erased.
When Meryl died in Metal Gear Solid, and Snake breaks down because he isn't the hero she thought he was. That hit me pretty hard.

Gameplay is okay, nothing speacial but it plays fine, but holy shit the art, music, and story are top fucking quality.

No one to blame but yourself.Fuck. That game broke me, I can no longer feel hype for any game.
I'm sure I have before, but I can't really recall. However, I do know there were many points in Nier that got me teary eyed, especially Emil's spiel to Kainé afteryou defeat her Shade.
There was also Asriel's backstory in Undertale and Ending E of Nier: Automata.

I thought the game would just be some low effort shovelware, did not expect it to permanently kill off one of the characters. It's especaially tragic when you realize that Wilfre was just trying to keep Mike from waking up so life could continue.

Yeah that campfire scene at the end made me tear up. Something about brotherhood gets me going.
I have the same reaction at the end of Return of the King.
I've played a lot of games, some of them got me a little teary eyed, but I've otherwise been pretty okay during the sad parts. Some games often times don't pull off the emotional shit well enough for me to turn into a baby over. But THIS FUCKING GUY made me cry for real. You can say whatever you want about Cold Steel 2, this shit hit me HARD. This is the only game to ever make me sit there and cry in front of my screen.

>>378804154

>>378807670
There were a lot of points that nearly got me, but Ending E was was got me the most, although it didn't get the tears flowing.
After trying again and again for maybe two hours without internet and just getting sick of it, at some point the internet came back up and the game asked me if I wanted to connect to the network. I chose yes and took a break for a bit, and after a bit of doing whatever I was doing, I see shit happening on the screen out of the corner of my eye.Seeing all those messages cheering me on and telling me to not give up got me a wee bit emotional. Even more so when the game asked if I wanted to receive help and it turned out people sacrificed their save game data, their hours and hours of gametime, just for the sake of helping some stranger finish the game. It was good. Nier Automata is pretty good.

Okami.
>>378817002
You give the player a reason to care about the characters and the story. That way, when one dies, the player feels the impact just as much as people in the game because they actually gave a shit about that character. Just making a character sympathetic doesn't necessarily mean people will care about them, some people might even laugh at the way you try to force their emotions. You need build up before you start bringing out the sad scenes.
>>378782954
I lasted the whole game without crying until the voices of everyone came in the credits
The ednings to MGS3 and SH2 were the only one to drive me to tears. Today some games can make me emotional, but never to the tears.

Sometimes when I read especially cool and fitting abilty names, I tear up just a little bit because of how badass they sound. The last example was in Bravely Default:
>See You In Hell
>Massive damage to all enemies upon suffering a KO. Reraise effect is negated.

I didn't cry but I was quite surprised by how Nier Automata managed to keep me very interested in everything about it. I was coming from a sequence of games that failed to keep me interested and the game just captivated me big time. What is this tingling feeling inside me, a game hasn't done that in a long time for me
>>378818914
It's to differentiate the subtitles from normal speech patterns moron. You can tell it's a song with the way it's formatted.
I cried because the insane nostalgia trip was over
>have a blast on the DLC
>constant joking and appearances from dead Roland
>she finally accepts his death
I was not expecting that as the ending, it teared me up.
Tales of Xillia 2 wasn't suppose to make me feel so damn sad as I did when Ludger had to kill Julius well everything was silent and he was humming that song to him.
>>378819129

Maybe I should play Ghost Trick.
>>378819521
Well it wasn't necessarily her. It was mostly just the idea of a child trying to accept the death of someone they basically saw as family. It was also because it was unexpected. I went into that DLC just expecting more shooting and stupid jokes, and then that came.

Screw the slashes, I can live with that since it's a song, but why are some words capitalized? And why does it end so abruptly?
And you know what really gets my piss boiling? When subtitles have lines like *laugh* or *whisper* or especially *scream*. Bioshock had *death gurgle*.

for some reason I never shed a tear during any event in this game, when something quite depressing happened (e.g most of the sidequests and everything in route C/D/E) I just laugh a little and went "holy shit" but never actually want to cry.
kinda makes me sad, really

>That is the worst part, he's doing the same thing all over again.
seems like this thing is everybody's problem in the game, especially 2Bafter we know that she's been executing who knows how many 9S models prior to the game and got so fed up she became a total tsundere.
memes aside this game really does make you think

I had no idea it existed until /indie/ brought it up about two weeks ago.Yes, it did make me cry.
I didn't cry, but the only time a game has really made me feel was when I played Undertale.
>Despite everything, it's still you.

I did get new friends in the game, just never bothered getting close since I was on my way to quitting.
Ps I was mainly a pvp player and good pvp died during cata/mop

the scene where they met the first time and went moongazing and making rabbits outta the constellation hit me like a truck because then I realized the significance of the paper rabbits. the music helps too, fucking Laura Shigihara man.

I'm not a huge fan of P3 (despite loving 4 and 5) but the ending hits hard. Even though I liked 4 and 5 more I still feel a lot of things whenever I listen to Memories of You that I just don't get from those other games.

The game is very unknown. Hell, many people who know of the original RPG maker version don't know of the remake and many people who do know of the remake don't know that the it has a new ending as of late March.

>But when I die I want it to hurt. When my friends leave, when I have to let go, when this entire town is wiped off the map, I want it to hurt. Bad. Until that happens, I want to hope again.
>And I want it to hurt. Because that means it meant something.

I cried and went into a fit of kicking and screaming during mgs2 when you had to fight like a million RAYs. The game never gave me fucking rations when i needed them.
Final Fantasy X is the only one I think I've actually shed tears to. The ending is X/X.

Not tears, but this legitimately affected me. To this day, I don't know what exactly I was feeling. It was like a mixture of resignation, sadness, and nostalgia. I need to play DE again...
Good taste anon.
