My buddies knew I fucking hated screamers. I learned how to detect those fuckers in every way I knew possible to the point that I can probably credit them for getting into my career.

One night I was staying over my buddies with another friend for the Diablo 3 announcement (2008 probably?). Was having an awesome time. Papa Johns, soda, snacks from 7/11. we were hanging out in the guest bedroom where we put a couch and most of the consoles and our laptops/pcs when we laned.

Well the stream is over and it's late as fuck so I pass out. A couple hours later I wake up to "SLAM SLAM SLAM" from them pounding on the door. Naturally I bounce up and go to see what the fuck is going on. The door is locked. Not only is the door locked, it's been barricaded. That's when I saw it. (Pic related).

I instantly knew what it was. The only thing I could think to do was try to go to sleep. Maybe if I didn't touch the mouse/click anything it would just go away and the monitor would go to sleep. Wrong. "REEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH" freaked me the fuck out and I even knew it was coming. I run to the PC and try to close the window. The mouse it unplugged. Alt+f"REEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH" fucking jump back. Did I mention this fucker had a subwhoofer connected to his PC? They had this fucker on full blast. I go back and alt+f4. Keyboard is unplugged. Finally I fucking pull the powercable.

At this point I'm fucking furious. My 15 year old stick figure fucking self KICKS DOWN THE DOOR and knocks down the chair behind it. From what my friends told me later, they saw the devil in my eyes. The second I see one of them, I grab hold of the chair and bobby knight that fucker across the entire living room into the kitchen smashing a lamp. I then proceed to kick my friend with all my strength in the knee before coming to my sense and out of half sleep delirium.

My buddies said they've never been so scared in his life to this day.

Anyway, I fucking hate screamers.

Was it Upgrade Complete? There was an item called "Heart Racer" or some shit like that, it played a screamer a few seconds after you exit the shop screen. It wasn't really "horrifying," just a regular screaming face (not distorted, just a regular face), but it made me jump.
I got in trouble when I played that game because the browser froze and wouldn't close and I didn't know how to use task manager, and when my parents saw the computer they looked at the title of the game and assumed I put some malware on my computer to "upgrade" it.
