I'd still think it's worth checking out. There's a lot of side-quests and optional interactions to see.

Granted, the gameplay's still pretty grating to get through.

I don't think I've played a game that's intentionally trying to be funny and making me laugh. Borderlands 2 comes to mind.

Ace Attorney games sometimes do make me laugh though.
Duck Game while drunk with friends is pretty slapstick too.
