F1 is a battle of engineers who're constantly on the run to design the best racing cars in the world. It's very interesting to learn about, but yeah the actual racing is boring because the people in charge of F1 are old farts who ban anything that deviates too much from the norm.

F1 was about that at some point in time. Now the engineering is highly regulated as you said, and the races aren't even races. They just drive around the track because attempting too dangerous overtakes gets you punished. The only overtakes happen during pit stops. But I mean engineering is done in every racing series

I happened to watch an Indy 500 race the other day and it was infinitely more entertaining, the racers actually raced each other. Of course there are also series where the tracks aren't just oval, they are also much more entertaining than F1. I don't understand how it can be so big in this day and age

grand prix 4, geoff crammond is the god of f1 games

I have F1 2016 on PS4. It's not bad. It's not a 9/10 game like ign said but it's no slouch either. If you're into that sorta racing then I recommend it. Because gran turismo is a while away.

F1 2016 is really good for newer ones. Better off waiting for the new one though since it will have classic cars. Project CARS also has a composite "Formula A" class that works like F1 cars that are good too
