I've only ever been in ONE squad with Chinese people in it, out of literally hundreds. Where does this meme come from? On the note of player count, it's been said before plenty of times but all that matters is that you can get into a full game, it doesn't matter that there are tons of servers so long as you have enough communicating players to play with. Also Squad is one of the only games that actually has a server queue so it matters even less now. And if you are going to pretend that RS2(no it isn't a "hardcore" fps) has the same niche(not a much bigger one) than Squad you are joking yourself. People in RS2 just run around like headless chickens not communicating, that's why the best maps are Territories where the team is basically funneled into 1 or 2 objectives because when the map is open like in the helicopter one it's total chaos.

Why is the zoomed fov and the normal one not separate?

The point is the fov is a setting like resolution, you adjust it according to your monitor, it's not some fucking game play mechanic.

Then i'll recommend your game. the "spooky" gunship bullet impacts always sound right on top of you and you didn't fucking fix anything about the grenade sounds from beta, they sound like they always land right next to you. Yes, it has to render the scene twice but the one rendered for the scope can be at much lower resolution and fov so the performance impact isn't really thay big.

If it's at a lower resolution, it'll be impossible to use scopes.
If it's standard resolution, it'll kill anyone's machine as the game struggles to run smoothly as is, a UE4 issue.
FOV doesn't have any impact on performance.
Lastly, scopes are already OP as is. Those with scopes get a much higher rate of kills excluding the sniper (who is mostly just garbage for the team to lose manpower on).

Our LSW is just our regular rifle with a longer barrel and some extra spare parts. We have 1 Sniper Rifle, 1 sidearm. We did get some FN Minimi's in for Iraq but they don't see very much use compared to the L86. Every time I worked with the Yanks they seemed to use a much larger variety.

If the scope covers 1/4 of your 2560*1440 screen you don't have to render the image seen through it with that resolution. It will be more like 2560*1440 main image + 900*900 scope image.

Fov has pretty significant impact on performance in most games because increasing fov increases the amount of stuff you have to render. If the scope fov is something like 5-10 degrees that doesn't have significant impact on draw calls. For example POSP 4x24 has 8 degree fov.

That might work better for vehicle PiP. Afaik, Stryker/CROW interfaces are just overlaid onto the screen instead of being a proper view at a screen.
For scopes at the moment I'd much rather they just set to fixed FOV instead of based on your set FOV, so you can have both situational awareness and accuracy. The problem lies in being able to spot targets in the first place without binocs, so for that I'll still play on a low FOV.
