Our playgroup literally has to get a full 6 stack together to avoid a Hanzo.

I think the problem is we fill in the vital roles ourselves, meaning healer, tank, primary dps, etc, and these shitniggers just think it's their time to chance to finally whip out their epic fave main.
And of course they always just fire scattershots down a hallway to free kills and then get outsniped by fucking enemy Zenyattas.

Overwatch is bad.

The better you get at overwatch, the more you'll realize just how bad it is.

Took me almost 800 hours to drop it. Funnily enough, the game is great fun at a low level but once people actually start trying all diversity in gameplay is quickly boiled away and you have the same 3 team archetypes fighting the same 5 battles at the same 8 chokepoints.

Maybe I like my team to be able to accomplish things, not have 1/3rd of my team attempting to kill something every 40 shots, another doing god knows what and crying for healing on the other side of the map, leaving three people to take on a half-coordinated team of six competent people, which probably has a Pharah and Mercy flying around unchallenged despite our team having two snipers.

I think the issue is so much is ult dependent, while in CS it's an unpretentious game about shooting each other until you die, and maybe plant/defuse a bomb.

Compare TF2 where so much is built around the ubercharge crescendo, where teams will have one medic each and so much of the game is attempting to deny the enemy a useful uber because killing the medic and resetting the uber meter or scaring him into using it before they're ready for the push works in your favor.

So much of OW is dependent on poking at each other until one team's composition crumbles and you can make a play on the objective, and then it gets bogged down when everybody just starts ejaculating ults.

The problem with Pharah are the buffs to her and Mercy, while hitscan heroes (the ones who can reliably hit her) were nerfed. The damage drop-off is severe so a good Pharah will be well out of range for you to do proper damage. Meanwhile, she's shooting damage boosted rockets with no damage drop-off at your team and you. Pharah can two-hit a soldier or drop him off a ledge, if she gets the drop on him, he's dead. Pharah basically has a constant -40% damage taken buff whenever she's up in the air and yes, people still actually have to AIM properly at her to hit her. And when they finally do hit that shot that does a fraction of proper damage, it gets healed up anyway.

Target the Mercy you say? The Mercy will be zooming around, hiding behind buildings, or just let herself fall behind a wall if she gets low. Same thing for Pharah.

Then you just switch over the fucking the Pharah in the ass, its really not hard to just run away from the spam and plink her down, even with the Mercy you will constantly be making her drop out of the sky, at which point shes far less of a problem.
