Huh. I didn't know you could clone in G/S, I did the glitch that let you get all 3 starter Pokemon.
I played it on the bus to school and my ex best friend got the game taken away from me, fuck you Harley I had just beat Morty.
I vividly remember cloning in Emerald's Battle Tower though, I taught that to everyone in school, but when I transferred up my Blaziken I was never sure if it was a clone or the original which fucked me up for a while.

I'd go with Gold. Arcanine, Primape and Gligar are good exclusives, but Silver's got Skarmory.

GSC carts constantly drain battery even when they're off to keep track of time. There isn't a single copy out there that can save the game if its battery hasn't been replaced.

Yeah, gen 1 cartridges last much longer because there was no time system. Gen 3 batteries were only used for time and the game could still be saved if the battery died. No more berries though.
