What is the best Diablo game? Already played Diablo 3 and it

Diablo II > Diablo 1 belzebub mod >>> III

All other opinions will be trolls or plain wrong.

Contrarians will say 1 and casuals/newcomers to the series will say 3, the answer is 2 with the expansion.

If you're an incessant lootwhore make sure you get the PlugY mod, it gives you shared stash and allows free reskilling so you'll be able to use any build you want cross characters.

Bit finnicky to get it to work though, I think it only worth with 1.13 patch

I still think the first one was the best and still most fun to play even today, stunlock helps a lot to make the game more immersive. The first one never got a proper sequel which is a shame I think it's the top 10 best action rpg.

I liked torchlight fairly well enough but like path of exile I just cannot enjoy the artstyle.

Grim Dawn is a great game, pretty much closet thing to titan quest we'll get

What OP should do is find a digital DL of 1.12a and grab D2SE. Has cores for all the patch editions so it can actually work with every mod as long as it has a D2SE plugin. I know Eastern Sun and Median XL now have plugins so you can play both on 1 install easily.

Diablo 1 has great atmosphere.

Diablo 2 has better gameplay but only the first act is actually great and from there it gets gradually worse until act 5 from the add-on that doesn't even feel like Diablo anymore.

The gameplay also becomes way too fast and flashy for me which kills all the atmosphere.

Diablo 3 is just a turd.

I don't get people complaining that d2 is too colorful, i mean sure act 5 is pretty weird because the epic music and open warfare, but act 2 and 3 and 4 are just as spooky as act 1

I've never gotten very far in this game mostly because I hit a point where I get shit on by most enemies and don't feel like grinding to keep moving.

Frozen Orb-Fireball Sorc, Summoning Necro, Winddruid, Hammerdin, Javazon and Trapsin are pretty good without good gear. Sorcs are best for farming.

trapsin needs almost no equip
same with druid

get TirRal (leaf) in a staff and it'll carry you quite far until you can restat into lightning/wind

sorc and hammerdin are also on the easy side but imo not that fun

magic is found in books and there's only a couple of classes

dablo 2 takes diablo 1 and expands the fuck out of it in every way possible

diablo 3 takes diablo 2 and streamlines everything to the point that it feels like a different game genre.
no longer a dungeon grinding survival sim, its an idle loot grind sim. rip dungeons.
