Super Mario 64 used this tech to make metal mario shiny, it's very simple, the only differences here is that super mario 64 uses a single generic low res cubemap whereas hzd uses a load of high resolution ones.

There are lots of amazing and unique visual effects and HZD uses none, it's all standardized technology.

Now post an actual ingame screenshot games looks good but nowhere near as good as the bullshot mode will lead people to believe. The draw distance fog is also MUCH shorter in game.

It's not an industry standard yet so you can't really talk about it, people here only know marketing terms fed to them on the back of games covers.
