Well, to bild fighting game rosters Capcom does focus-testing. They don't just sit down and throw a roster together, they literally put in charaters that what their purposefully targeted audiences want. So you can't say "I don't like the list", but you can't speak for any sort of "we".

Case in point: I think that the list is vanilla and dull... and YET it has Red Arremer AND Arthur and I already want to try to play those two characters. Firebrand or Arthur needs to go in a roster this tight. I'm leaning towards dumping Firebrand.

Chun-Li as the second SF rep is boring. I'd argue that this is again a token womyn pick, but she's in all the games so I'll just chalk it up to Capcom being unoriginal.

The biggest problem with this roster is that it's dumping more characters than it's adding, which is insulting given that they're so blatantly reusing assets.

This game looks like MvC3, but most of the interesting/wierd/unique/niche characters cut out. Some of the newcomers are nice, but there's so few of them that it doesn't make the purchase feel worthwhile. If they were going to recycle entire characters wholesale from Ultimate, they should have gone all in and gave us a HUGE roster with almost every character returning. Then maybe the minuscule amount of new characters and DLC jewing wouldn't feel so bad.

I'm honestly shocked that Wesker didn't make the cut for the main roster. He seemed like one of the breakout characters in MvC3, and was consistently among the most popular for ages iirc.
