With the Switch, it seems Nintendo wanted every basic functionality to be tied to a peripheral that could be licensed and sold.

Want a controller grip that can charge the joycons? Buy the 30 dollar one that is sold seperately. Want to charge your Switch while in tabletop mode? Buy a stand. Want an ethernet port? Buy the USB adapter. Oh, of course you're going to want to protect your Switch so go buy a case for it.

Why can't Nintendo into voice chat? It's been around since the original Xbox and I don't ever recall anyone saying anything negative about it.

The most confusing part is apparently the Switch does support microphones through the console, they just don't let you use it and force you to use a smartphone.
Honestly, why would you use their app over any other voice chat system?

Nintendo can make the games just fine, they've nailed controllers perfectly and they're finally catching on with online multiplayer, but they're dragging their feet so hard on chat and online services like leaderboards or stats on a website.

If pedos wanted to trick children through an online video game, they could buy a bone or ps4 and play cod.

So this adapter is for if went to listen to game audio while i'm voice chat.So i would assume the when i actual app come out you can just plug and headphones with a mic into the phone then just put phone down or in your pocket.

Ok, so it's $30 for an accessory that enables a function that is already built into a PS4 or Xbox One controller.

So do the math. If you want your Switch controller to have the same functionality that is built into the competitions controllers, you would need to buy the $30 charging dock and now the $30 dollar headset adapter. Just to get those two features costs the same as a regular XB1 or PS4 controller. I'm not wrong in saying that Nintendo wants to nickel and dime by accessorizing basic functionality.
