I liked the effects put into magic. I would have strongly preferred something other than the 20th retelling of the opening of the Dark Portal.

The movie also came at such a retarded time. It took them years to make a mediocre movie at one of WoW's lowest points. If anything, even a bad Warcraft movie during the BC/Wrath era would have absolutely demolished the box office.

It was rushed through. Garona had to earn the trust of Lane, Lothar, Medivh and everyother motherfucker with deeds, not words. In the movie she just gets to walk to the king, completely unsupervised, and they hit it off right there.

No reservations, no care for the king's safety. They just become besties right away. Then she gets put in a comfy little cage where almost no character growth happens until she's freed and taken on an adventure.

Never played Warcraft anything in my life, I thought that the movie was pretty good. Because I'm familiar with gaming "culture" and remember when WoW was at its peak popularity 10 years ago I was able to spot the fan service and accept it for what it was. I also thought that the effects and cinematic aspects of the film were incredible and le Viking man was great as expected. Really enjoyable, and it'll be the first movie I watched in 4k when my tv comes in the mail

I liked it. I saw it with a few people I met on WoW, and we had some fun watching it, and a lot more fun discussing what they should've done instead of what they did.
Overall okay experience and excellent conversation starter for fans of the games and books/comics.

The (otherwise very shitty) Warcraft setting has a charm and it is a guilty pleasure of mine.
If thats you as well, see the movie, its alrihgt.

As a WoW player/Warcraft fan, I thought it was alright. Some of the changes were pretty weird, and I wasn't very keen on Medivh's design with the orange hair, but I don't think it was especially offensive. Everything dealing with the humans are pretty boring (That goes without saying though, humans in fantasy are just boring), and it's mainly the Orc stuff you'll see it and remember it by.

Speaking of the Warcraft movie, reminder that an interviewer literally walked out of his own interview because the film's director, Duncan Jones, didn't take his bait.
