It's a good shooter with lots of climbing and swinging around stuff and most tend to tell a good story. The crazy 'setpiece' parts are mostly gameplay but you're running from something and stuff like that.

They're pretty linear games, but they use the linearity very well. Level design is rarely something akin to a hallway, especially in 4 where levels get a bit more open.

From what I've seen you soak up plenty of bullets so you can pull of cuhrazy grapple swings and hand-to-hand combat

It's not the most complex game in the world but the difficulty settings help a great deal. There's also a bunch of hidden stuff to collect, which the ones you do collects carry over across playthroughs.
