Recently? Ubisoft is trying to appeal to competitive cancer too much. Every hero is balanced around 1v1 and it ruins the other game modes.

Shitty gear system and poorly balanced characters that were impossible to fix without completely redoing animations meant that the game ultimately dissolved into an unbreakable defense-oriented meta. High level play consists of doing absolutely nothing until the enemy attacks first and punishing them for it, so you get a lot of stalemates and staring matches. There are some characters that have abilities that break these stalemates, so they are ultimately the only viable ones.

Shit balance and ubishit not fixed the connection issues

I never bought it but I played it on a friend's playstation.
It wasn't bad for a ubisoft game, and I didn't feel jewed playing it.
I feel that says a lot.

It's one of the top selling games this year. ubisoft doesn't give a flying fuck whether people are still playing it or not.

Shitty servers that still crash often and questionable choices when it comes to balancing the game on the part of the devs. Cents easily dodge able kick in 1v1 is being looked at while shinobis kick which is more or less unpunishable in 1v1 and just as good as cents in 4v4 need more data gathered on it.
