Final Fantasy is a shit RPG series. Open World games have better immersion. It feels like its trying to be an shitty anime, but with gameplay segments. Atleast Persona lets you build relationships and stuff.

Most of the earlier games had a great blend of linearity and openess in the world maps. I feel a lot of newer games really lack what made the older games feel complete.

FFX is a game that SHOULD be the best in the series, but it isn't.

It has a fantastic setting, and a plot with lots of very interesting and cool ideas. Except the way the story is told is extremely juvenile and the characters are unlikable cardboard cutouts, with all the interesting stuff being things you have to infer from side materials and single lines of dialogue.

It has a combat system that strikes a great balance between being tactical, fast paced and challenging. Except in reality the game doesn't really build itself up for that properly unless you intentionally handicap yourself and actually every fight is either "use the character that instant kills me to win" or a complete slog of horseshit.

Also the game is a linear hallway and once the game opens up at the end you're stuck with maybe the worst minigames in the universe to get cool bonus stuff along with a treasure hunting macrogame that for the most part gets you mediocre shit rewards that you don't care about.

FFX had perfect battle systems
OST as good as any other FF

the rest was utter garbage and you should jump off a cliff if you think otherwise
