Those are literally the only two things they could add that would make it BEGIN to feel like a progression from TF and potential finale to a trilogy.

I'd love to see the DK series try its hand at 3D again, even Tanabe said he wants to see it.

I'd rather have something new from Retro, but I'd still buy another DK game from them.

This I actually agree with. There's absolutely no reason why they should have Metroid forced on them just because every other in house company is shit at making Metroid. Those guys (fucking NextLevelGames and Sakamoto) really need to step their game up.

Speaking of NLG, I new from day one when we got these scrapped concept art that they'd be a shitty fit for the Metroid series. People who hated Luigi's Mansion 2 said it was because it was too linear and too cartoony, both elements that are the absolute antithesis to Metroid.

Every 2D platformer Kirby game, Mega Man 2, Mega Man X, Bubble Bobble, Adventure Island 2-3, Bionic Commando, Journey to Silius, Cool Spot, Joe & Mac 2, etc. etc.

Each level felt different and unique, the secrets were plentiful and pretty well hidden within the stages and I can't recall a single stage that was boring. No, since you can pretty much play through those games without touching any of them. DKC forces you to suffer through the shitty stop-and-go launch barrels frequently, and since the hitboxes in the game are so fucked being launching a half second early or a half second late means you're losing a Kong to either an enemy or a barrel that you should have entered but the game didn't allow.
