XIII has combat but its fast paced and not nearly as abusive as other FF games

XII blows the fuck out XIII in virtually all aspects aside from maybe music.
In terms of writing and characters they are incomparable, Matsuno is one of the best jrpg writers and coupled with god-tier localization it's really hard to beat him, but Toriyama is a pile of tasteless shit who tried to force his garbage waifu for 3 games straight without any success.
In terms of combat systems, XII actually gives you direct control and customization over virtually all aspects of gameplay compared to shallow XIII combat.

Mitsuru's hair is fine because the parting is attached to the rest of her hair. Lightning's parting (in game at least) looks like a separate thing that just magically floats, and sticks out too far. Plus that dumb strand of hair over her shoulder, looks like a half-assed braid.
