Jump Ultimate Stars, Ghost Trick and Pokemon Heartgold are the only 3 games I played on the DS that I actually went trough the trouble of buying after playing them even if I have an Acekard.

the touch screen was an actual innovation instead of a gimmick so games got creative with it. Even if it was simple things like Sonic running between screens for spectacle.

Lost Magic, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, and TWEWY are the only DS vidya I like. It was truly the start of Nintendo's downfall.

Because the 3ds is based on a gimmick that has never been successful while dual screen and touch screen were 2 choice that actually made games on the system better.

Aliens: Infestation was really good but the game I played the most was Portrait of Ruin.
I need to buy a DS lite again so I can play Nanashi no Game.

The DS had truly innovative games, by the time the 3ds came out developer just half assed most of their games on the console and had 0 intention on trying to innovate with the machine.
Almost every great game on the DS would not have been as good on a different console, Almost all great 3ds games would be better on a different console.

The DS was cheaper to develop for and thus got more new IPs and fun experimental games

Also Nintendo dropped the ball with making the 3DS $250 on release, it basically didn't sell for the first year or so.

I was so sad when the servers went down.
Even though hackers were prevalent and the amount of nami spammers was nauseating it was still fun
I did cheese out Luffy's infinite boxing charge and that one dude's infinite hover move sometimes though.

Say what you will about 3ds launch it had some underrated gems.

Yeah it was pretty great. I love how the entire game was DS downloadable so I only had to buy the game once to play with all my friends in highschool. Shit was so cash.
