Except that your MP is effectively infinite thanks to Blood Weapon and Syphon Strike. If you only had a set amount of MP that had to last you the entire fight then you might have a point.

Even in the times where you are conserving MP and cannot boost SS/SE, there is no moment of "gosh I wish I'd used that MP on Blackest Night instead" because even if you only boosted SS/SE ONCE it's still an overall DPS gain compared to using it on BN + Bloodspiller instead.

A person using Blackest Night doesn't somehow get more GCDs over the course of the fight. If one DRK boosted SE and another used BN + Bloodspiller, and then they both stopped and did fucking nothing for the rest of the fight, then I concede, the one who used Bloodspiller did more damage. But that's not how it works. You keep going until the boss's health hits 0 and your goal is to maximise the overall damage of your GCDs in that time and you do that by spending your MP on SS/SE.
