Most I've enjoyed a farming game since Magical Melody (but I don't like RF, so that might be why)

Put a solid 130 hours, got it when it came out last year and started a new file when the big update happened later. Really relaxing game, the music is phenomenal, some of the art leaves a bit to be desired but its not terrible. Mods can fix a lot of the problems that the game has, like said art. I plan to buy this when it comes to the Switch, as its something I'd definitely take on trips.

31 hours playtime. Haven't played it since July last year but while I was playing it I really enjoyed it. Only problems I had with it were the timescale being too fast and not knowing where any NPCs were. Would recommend despite those things.


Also plant as many blueberries as you can during summer.

Yeah, I ended up maxing out mining before anything else and had so many gemstones that I just gave everyone in town a couple every week. If SV had an economy system I'd have caused a crash by the end.

I've tried it out but I still don't get it, why would you play this instead of harvest moon/story of seasons/rune factory?

The first year is the best part, once you get rich things start getting boring fast.
The music is wonderful though, every season has tracks that fit the atmosphere beautifully and even the mines have some nice calming exploration themes.

Fantastic, fully realized, charming, highly polished game. Pretty enjoyable game, around the third year you might start running out of things to do and might get a little bored, but I got a good 50-60 hours or so out of it before I stopped playing. I'd recommend using some mods, you can get them from nexus.

There's a mod that shows where all the townspeople currently are, very handy. There's a mod that let's you harvest with a scythe, very handy for crops that regrow.

I didn't expect to like a farming game this much. I've tried getting into stuff like Harvest Moon before, but never did. There's something about this one that made me play it several hours a day for entire three weeks when I got it, which I can't say about many games. At some point I got tired of story-driven narrative bullshit and complex gameplay systems of other games and just went to farm some shit, catch some fish and obtain a waifu.
