Fighting game reviews are the most worthless trash shit ever in the modern gaming industry. Either you get people who shit on it for not being Uncharted or you get people who are casual fanboys who say a game is amazing but can't tell you why outside of broad undefined buzzwords like "the combat is complex/intuitive/rewarding".

If you want to know about a fighting game, go to the competitive forum that talks about it. SRK, Tekken Zaibatsu, Dustloop, etc.

I do agree that fighting games should aspire to be more. I have the deluxe version reserved and I am definetly going to blast this game for years to come on the multiplayer but... after all of these years of waiting, do we really want exactly the same game as the one in the arcade but with maybe 1 hour of cutscenes? Is it even 1 hour? I dont know man...
Just imagine if this game some kind of tower of challenges just like in Soul Calibur, + Soul Caliburs customization system and a WELL DONE Tekken 6 style beat em up singleplayer game with Tekken 7 sp style boss battles

I just lost all excitement for it seeing it keep getting delayed year after year while NRS was upping their game tenfold and giving us Injustice 2 with tons of improvements with content for both SP and MP players and GGPO aswell. You have to understand that Tekken 3 was at the pinnacle of what video games could be back then. After school you'd go to your friends, or they'd come to yours, and you fight each other on Tekken for hours. That was the ultimate gaming experience.

Times have changed and that kind of thing isn't enough to make a game as critically acclaimed as Tekken 3 was.

To be fair though Tekken has peaked at 5 Dark Ressurection. Everything afterwards is so plain and dull. Tekken 6 is pretty much Tekken 5 but with new characters and stages, it doesn't bring anything new into the table aside from that "Tekken Force/Devil Within" hybrid type of mode, that's basically the game's story mode campaign. But even that was glitchy and the story was boring too. Tekken 6's character endings are lame too, alot of the characters suddenly get killed off like Law and Paul getting killed by an explosion in Steve's ending. The one with Bruce Irvin was just so out of place and weird it's like something that doesn't even feel like Tekken. The only thing Tekken 6 did better was the character customization. While Tekken 7 does bring new things to the table, it still is not that interesting or anything mind blowing. I honestly find the rage arts to be pretty uninspired and just slow. New characters are somehow even more boring than 6's. The soundtrack is god fucking awful like christ they're ear bleeding.
