This is true. SF/Tekken/SC and all of them have at least one god tier intro.

On paper it makes sense why.
Being a huge arcade market, when you want something to attract the customer's eye, you need something that looks "amazing". And since the bar was set high with even earlier fighting games, it was just companies trying to top each other with every title.
