Man I hated that part. This is just padding. When I found the fucker I had like 20 rupees. And there was no way to get 80 rupees in this area. So I had to go out of this area and farm for rupees wich is incredibly annonying and brakes the game flow. (Link to the Past actually suffers from far to many such road blocks, that's why I can't understand how people like it over Ocarina, but that's a different discussion.)
I especially hate that part bc it could have been good or at least decent. Imagine the ape running from you and telling you to catch it. The objective would be to back him up in a dead end of the labyrinth and then he offers to help you. BUT NO, they had to go with the retarded option
