The sole reason Injustice 2 got such high scores because the game has fucking high production value in terms of graphics, audio and most importantly content.

It's not really a japan vs west thing tho, it's more like a casual fighter vs the more niché serious fighter thing.

Japan fucking dropped the ball with fighting games. They excel at everything else but recent fighting games have all been shit with the exception of Revelator.

A little side-tracked but the reason that game scores higher is because INJ2 has too much to keep the casual heart at bay while also having a little something for the competitive players. Tekken just has itself plus a story mode to gap space. You might as well call it a very accurate port of the arcades.


Now let's stop the bickering, boot up your PS4, and let's throw down in Metropolis for a couple days. Waiting for Tekken 7 is awful, and INJ2 is literally sitting around right now.

The times have changed but little did Tekken 7. T3 offered what seemed like the most refreshing thing to see on the PS1. Tekken 7 has everything the average fighting game could have and can only stand out by it's combat system. And lots of people are concerned about it because it got way too complicated over the years.

The problem with the tekken series as a whole is that if you are just starting out the gap between you and somebody who has been playing since Tekken 3 is so huge that you might get up to their level in Tekken 8 if you start now in Tekken 7. This ofc means that if you are okay with that and dedicate yourself to the series the payoff is huge and will make you feel like a demigod.
