Demon's Souls is the only Souls game where advancing cautiously will let you get through the entire game without a single death.
Dark Souls and Bloodborne throw a bunch of unseen, unpredictable and overly aggressive bullshit at you that will get you killed the first time, but you can usually evade most of it on reaction or just run away.

If you played all the later Souls games first, then you've probably developed a penchant for charging in like a retard expecting to just roll out of any danger. Instead, you should be walking slowly as you advance in Demon's Souls, peeking around the corners, hanging back to observe enemies. Your death count should be dramatically lower than any of the other games, but Dark Souls has trained you poorly.

Apart from DS1 to an extent I flew through all the souls games, none of them were that difficult so I dont really know how I find this game so hard

Watched a complete walktrough 3-4 times in the past 2 days whielbeing ill and wow. Anthing DaS is just a copy of demons but with a different level layout. Enemies, Npc, setting everything minus the annoying "openworld" meme. Ds2 for example would be a 9/10 if it just ditched open world. DaS second half wouldnt be as shit either (but first half works actually so well I have no idea how they managed to do it is it even replicable?)

Overall anything past das second half should have been nexus and archstones. Therefore, demon souls did some serious avant garde shit and should be praised for it but ths is contrarian v so go get it

If you killed the first boss go 4-1 and get the Falchion behind the red skeleton best early game weapon. You can fist the skeletons does more dmg than your sword probably.

Demo s is the easiest one because it has so much OP shit. You can stack HP regen to something like 20 HP a second. There are shields that block 100% damage from two damage types at once. Healing items drop like candy. You can recover magic over time AND through items.

So the thing with Demon Souls is that weapon attributes (Slash, Pierce, and Crush iirc) actually matter. You have to use your noggin for the earlier sections of the game if you're playing melee.

In other words: Break Bones, Cut Flesh, Pierce Scales.

Demons Souls has the easiest bosses but unforgiving enemies throughout each level.

It also has the best atmosphere of any souls game so that's why it's the best.

The correct progression isn't 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, etc...

You've literally skipped from the first area of the game to the fifth area of the game. Do the first level of each zone, then do the second level of each zone, etc...

For what? Magic made the game gg ez, the grass system made it even more gg ez, and fucking new moon is piss easy to farm, not to mention how half the fucking bosses could be cheesed by just standing in some specific place and blasting them with your practically limitless supply arrows. The warp system made everything feel extremely disconnected, in contrast to a game like Bloodborne or Dark Souls. The Dragon God itself left a pretty bad taste in your mouth, and bosses like Leechmonger and Dirty Colossus were piss easy and not really memorable at all. etc etc etc etc.

I like the game's level design and musical score, but Dark Souls did level design better and the musical score is only marginally less memorable.
