The whole reason he ends up in a coma and the events of TPP are set into motion is because of the helicopter "crash". If never "crashed" why is he in a fucking coma? TPP fucks up the series timeline beyond comprehension, but by design, to make long time fans of Metal Gear disappointed their favorite series has been ruined, only to say surprise and retcon it.

Look at this picture. The ceiling fan only exists in two locations of the game. In the hospital. Then the only other time you see it is during the cutscene at the end of Shining Lights. Mgs2 and 3 emulate pretty badly unless you have a super computer, I'd try it, why not save money if you can? But chances are you'll have to get the legacy collection if your pc isn't great.

And if you want my honest advice, I'd avoid mgs threads until you beat it. As you can see that other anon has no idea what's happening at the part he's at, and if you're immersed into the story (no matter how schlocky or dumb it is) you'll have so many different assumptions of what the fuck is happening, it's a fun ride. Just know the dialogue is super campy and cheesy, but it's all in good fun.

Yes, this is related to the GzHelicopterCrash variable I keep mentioning but no one ever believes me about. The final ending of the game has to be released from Konami's servers. I'm not at all interested in Kingdom of the Flies, I think it's even more boring and uninteresting than the ending we got. But someone else came up with an interesting possibility. Towards the end of the mission, doesn't the shrapnel in Venom's head get hit causing hallucinations? Someone suggested that could trigger him to remember what really happened at Camp Omega, which unlocks that mission. It's fun if you can remove all expectations that come from the previous games from your mind.

It's a very somber game, snake is very melancholic throughout the entire game, doesn't talk much, and is basically used as a device to show how crazy one of his friends has become due to revenge. The gameplay requires you to use your imagination otherwise you'll get bored, and it's written badly in the sense that it touches on a lot of themes but they're all done in a very shallow way that leaves you wishing he had someone to reel him in with his ideas.
With that said, I think it's one of the best stealth games I've ever played.

even before the Patriots were a thing, the antagonistic force in MGS3 wasn't any one person. it was the systems of war that drive people apart and make them enemies, specifically 'the times'. each game has its own theme, but also explores certain aspects of war. the systems themselves, people, shifting political interests, charismatic politicians, the military industrial complex, etc. Zero, Skull Face, CIPHER, etc. are all analogues to these real life things. the series spans half a decade and as such the systems used to perpetuate war adapts and changes with society, giving Kojima room to explore all these different facets.

MGSV shows Zero only controls CIPHER for about a decade, and it quickly spins out of his control. it goes from being a tightly controlled Illuminati to a system that spirals out of control, just like the military industrial complex of today.

This is incorrect. Paz's assassination attempt at the end of PW is the first time Zero and Big Boss interact since he left The Patriots. So TPP seemed to be setting itself up to depict the war between Zero and Big Boss and we got the exact opposite of that.

How different do you think peoples opinions on mgs v would be if ground zeroes had been released in the same package as TPP? First impressions are everything, I genuinely feel a lot of this unfinished shit wouldn't even be that big of a deal. LET happening while Big Boss is in a coma

The games industry is often leakier than a rusty bucket, and this habit for spreading confidential information had Hideo Kojima in a spin before E3, reports Kotaku.

If Big Boss being in a coma during LET is still canon what's not to say Zero / Paramedic didn't put Boss into a coma themselves so they could begin the project? All the more reason for Boss to be pissed and leave The Patriots when he did, since LET was the final nail in the coffin when it came to Boss becoming enemies with Zero.

Not only this, pre-TPP's release Kojima addressed fans being confused over the fact Big Boss has said to suffered through only ONE coma in his life.
