My friend and I used to always play Tekken locally but now he moved across the country. We are looking forward to playing together online now.

We used to always like create ourselves in Tekken, as well as people we know, and characters from vidya/shows/anime we like.

Its funny because the Tekken customization is so limited, it creates a real challenge to make these people/character recognizable. Its half the fun seeing how far we stretch it.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, MIGHT.

Yeah man, it's not like certain characters had a death combo in the first 2 games from a generic launcher. It's not like Ogre's waning moon was 13f grab, couldn't be teched/breaked and didn't result in your bar disappearing when you played Tekken 3. It's not like the Mishimas had the best launchers, Changs had the strongest juggles and Ogres had the best sidestep range and stamina size in Tag 1. It's not like Jin was completely broken in Tekken 4 where he had a mid unblockable launcher called JFLS, nuh uh, this Steve guy wasn't even a match with his nonexistent death combos near wall and CH 4,2, and don't get me started on Kazuya, he was so weak that he definitely couldn't do stun links with WS2 and b,b+2 for 80% bar damage. Never happened, another game did happen. Tekken 5? Yeah, Steve, Raven and Kazuya so did not have any infinities from the side of a character or at a wall splat. Tekken 5 DR? Didn't even have Dragunov. Tekken 6? Oh come on now, Bob didn't even ruin any tourneys. What, another Tag game? Bruce's damage is completely fine when paired with anyone. Geez.

If you're going for general 'realistic' look then I guess Tekken but it's not like it has much competition. Everything NRS puts out is ugly as sin.

From a general 3D standpoint it's still better than shitfighter V but it's because half of SFV was outsourced to talentless modelers and it shows because some characters look fine (the ones done internally) and then others look super bad. It's inconsistent and the fact that SFV generally has a super ugly aesthetic which even makes KOF14 look superior despite it's simplistic looks.

Been playing Tekken since Tekken 3. Yoshimitsu was my fav since it had Yoshi in the name and I loved Super Mario World at the time. Jack quickly became a second fav because he's a bulk as fuck robot.
