Ni No Kuni or Legend of Legaia.

After a hard day at work I felt numb and a little depressed last week. I fired up the Witcher 3 and just wandered around the forests in Toussaint.

I've never done that in a video game before. I know that game gets a lot of flack here but goddamn is it gorgeous and fun to explore

oh definitely. Witcher 3 has an amazing sense of "place", just sitting with the wind blowing all the leaves and grass around you. It feels like a real place you could actually be in. One of the more incredible things video-games can accomplish

Even though night elfs can be pretty faggy, I believe teldrassil is one of the best starting areas in any game and a food introduction to WoW

It's just an otherworldly landscape, the massive trees blocking out the sky with the purple foliage. It must be so cool and dark below them. And then when you finally leave this area, you realize the entire forest was ON TOP of an even bigger tree
