I have yet to play it, but I'm a big MMO guy, and it's the only game I've bothered following recently. I'm only interested because it seems to be the only MMO that isn't a WoW clone or Survival sandbox abortion.

There are very few and they're stupidly simple.

There is nothing in BDO that's engaging. It looks kinda pretty and that's about it. And even that has issues (glossiness, contrast on hairs, etc)

The only MMO I have ever played was Lineage 2 on various pirate servers, and while the grind was real (even on x3 or x7) I couldn't find any more fun game from this genre ever again. Maybe I just grew older.

Almost no MMO anymore does free PVP without funny combat instances and duels.

Recent Chronicles are shit.

All I want is a nice small-scale MMO with a focus on tight mechanics as opposed to fuckhuge gameworlds and a bunch of shit that isn't going to be well-implemented in the first place.
We've got all these shitty battle royale games, just cap the max playercount per server to sub-500 or something and set people loose, you could easily make a better, more focused game with mechanics that actually fucking function.
That's basically what all these MUDs have been doing for the past 30 fucking years.

As a long-time MMO player, I earnestly think it's the most fun/enoyable MMO on the market right now. It's not a hardcore tab-target hotbar raiding MMO, like WoW and FF XIV, more like Destiny or something. Small group content and action content, but with a massive focus on story and exploration. Plus it has a really nice skill system with real builds and nice crafting. It's just a fun, comfy game, especially considering it's like $12 on sale and has no sub fee.

I wish I could play the new Morrowind expansion, but it comes out at the same time as Stormblood and I'm forced to raid my Free Company and shit.
