A) They tell the stockholders about the whole thing and how they'll get a lot of attraction during E3 after their "ruse"

B) They outright lie to the stockholders about the "ruse" and keep it to themselves. Telling them exactly what they said to the public media

C) They keep them in the dark and constantly dodge questions.

First off C is out of question since they kept making public announcements about how MG Survive is a brand new game and that the MGSV:TPP is the final game released. If the stockholders ask about this and they give a "I can't release that info" it'd be obvious and go into category A. Not to mention even if they didn't make any public announcements the stockholders would lose their interest in the company and their risk factor would go up, deciding to sell their stocks. That would mean konami would gradually lose a lot of market value, which didn't happen.

A and B would be outright insider trading in every sense. This situation clearly implies that their stocks will go down during their "fan-hate" period and will go high again after their reveal. Any non-idiot trader with this info would exploit this and violate insider trading laws.

If they choose A and tell the traders they would be sharing them the secret to get their market value up and get both of them rich, it's the oldest fucking con trick by big companies and is illegal.

If they choose B, that means THEY were the ones insider trading. By making the investors lose trust in them and tanking their stocks, with the new reveal attracting new investors and giving them a lot more market value. The ex-stockholders would be extremely furious, this would be even worse than the FBI investigation for choice A as it'd also include corporate lawyers on both sides.

A good example is the area with all of the graves before the Eddie boss fight. Showed tombstones for James that were dug up, along with one for Walter Sullivan. He knew of Walter Sullivan because he read the article clipping found near the apartments. Lastly, one huge example would be all of Silent Hill 4.
