Honestly I don't think there's really a "bad" starting point for Kirby, outside some of the spin-offs and maybe the very early games. If you want a personal recommendation, though, Super Star is a good starting point. I recall the remake of it being pretty excellent, too, if you'd rather go with that, though I haven't played it in a while. The GBA ones are pretty fun, too.
