Morgana suffers from being too squishy for a healer and having a smaller sp pool than Makoto. Salvation is also overkill in most cases which just serves to drain his sp pool even faster. Samarecarm is also meh because it has only 2 possible targets since if Joker dies it's game over, meaning the item version Tae sells is more useful since everyone can use it.

Once Makoto gets mediarama she's usually a better healer than Morgana because of her tankyness, her team defense buff and her sp pool.

Morgana is useful in certain situations like in cases of bosses with more than one target like Caroline and Justine. His masukunda combined with Yusuke's masukukaja helps avoid their weakness exploits or break nasty baton pass chains that could kill you. In that fight it's much better to roll with Ryuji, Yusuke and Morgana than bringing Makoto.

However in most other cases Makoto does serve as a better support.

yes, but, like I said, when a party member weakness is coming up you guard with him. That makes the AI cast a Ma- version of it which will hit at least two party members and still do pretty considerable damage. Marakukaja greatly mitigates that. If you swap her for Morgana, not only will everyone take more damage but Morgana will also die so much quicker than her, and the last party member you want dying is your support.

Also I just keep them debilitated anyway. Actually I found the most efficient method is to keep only one debilitated and rush her.

I used Ryuji, Ann and Makoto for my first run. I wanna use other members for NG+ but I honestly can't think of a better party than this. Ryuji has incredible damage output, Ann has insane MAG and Diarahan and Makoto is a better healer than Morgana really.

Look, you always want to lower their defences to maximize your damage. If you're wasting a turn with MC on a debuff you might as well use debilitate. Few things are weak against nuke, and while they do deal bonus damage to shocked burned or frozen, ryuji and yusuke only use their elemental spells to hit weaknesses for all out attacks (which usually kills them), which becomes increasingly useless near the end of the game, and ann nukes shit so hard with her fire spells that the burn status is an afterthought.
Shit, I find psi weaknesses more common than nuke, and haru has strong gun skills that crit all the time to go with her psi spells, as well as tetrakarn and makarakarn.

I didn't like using makoto by the end of the game.
Flash bomb, her strongest physical skill, is completely useless damage wise by then and she doesn't have the int to make her nuke spells anything special.

And no, I didn't get her whatever that gives +15 to all stats. The fact that she even gets an item like that and still doesn't break her is a testament to how underwhelming she is for damage.

Not only is magic weaker than physical, even with Concentrate she ends up as a net damage loss because Joker is wasting more turns (and thus not shitting out 100x more damage than Ann) and Ann is wasting turns and items restoring her SP constantly, especially endgame when she needs to use Blazing Hell to match Yusuke's damage output. She also falls behind him if you get any chances for a Baton Pass at all. Not only that, but his damage output is higher even in a strict comparison without utility until Ann gets concentrate at the end of the game.
