The mobile ports made an attempt at getting closer to the art. No, not the Amano art.
Also they were lazy cashgrabs with garbage tiling and I fucking hate that THAT shit is what we got for a FFVI remake. Same applies to FFV. FFIV at least got some good stuff before its mobile abomination.

Laziness and cheapness, simple as that. The mobile ports were shitty cashgrabs. This isn't speculation or shitposting because we know what good ports/remasters look like because SQUARE DID IT WITH FF4. Both the PSP and DS versions are fucking awesome in their own ways, very different styles obviously and I could see someone preferring either, but in both clearly a lot of effort went in.
