the best part about open world games is the freedom to do whatever. In other openworlds, progressing the story requires you to activate this mission from someone or something, and you're stuck within a certain part of the world while you complete the mission. Playing the game actually takes away your freedom. In BotW, progressing the story is just another one of the things you can do. It's still an open world game, so if exploring shit isn't your thing, you're not going to like it.

This. The physics-based interactions for just about everything in the game allows for tons of unique solutions to practically every challenge. In other open world games, the world is just an empty space for you to complete objectives off a check list. BotW at least attempts to make the world itself something that you're constantly interacting with.

Well, since traveling and exploring are such a great deal in this zelda game, they worked a lot on how link moves and tackles the environmental obstacles.

Gliding, shield surfing and climbing are a huge deal in making the game feel great, and the is geographically interesting so it lets you take advantage of this.

Plus the interactivity and how each one of the gameplay elements of the game are tied together just make it a very robust proposal.

The thing I like most about this game is that even when your power is maximum you still have to be aware of the environment. Just wish the enemies were a little more varied and scaled just a little with your power level.

It's not a waste because then you can fill those slots with attack boosters and hearty dishes
Upping your hearts just makes you a damage sponge when you should focus more on not getting hit. More stamina lets you do more charged attacks, more climbing, more gliding, more exploring in general.

It's really not a good game. The meat of the game is like 2 hours long. Shrines and seeds take like 60 hours to do.

I came to the 2 hour conclusion by using Saviine to give myself max spirit orbs, seeds, and DLC equipment. The 4 dungeons + Ganon's castle took approximately 2 hours to complete.
