Both are great games but homm3 aged better.

A good game but way overrated. It's super easy to cheese in this game.
My biggest problem is tho how everyone and their mother says they have such great memories playing it on LAN or with friends, that is just pure bullshit. Every turn takes like 5-10min and if you're like 3-4friends playing it's just suffering. After a while everyone just starts to mind their own business when it's another players turn, maybe playing another game on the side or so. So after not even 1h the game becomes a chore because you just do your turn ASAP to get back to whatever else you were doing.

I never played this shit on LAN, I played it hotseat while whoever wasn.t taking their turn was playing guilty gear 1 or some other shit like tekken 3 on my ps1 and we rotated turns on Homm3 until someone ended up fighting someone else then we would all crowd round my pc and watch the fight.

the campaign was fantastic, it reminded me of warcraft. but yes the art style did not fit it. and 2 upgrades per unit is amazing.
