Do you think Inafune's legacy is tarnished? Can he recover?
He's done for when it comes to having a public persona and a name you can sell, he burned all his goodwill.
The whole MN9/Red Ash fiasco, garbage like Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z and possibly even pushing for outsourced games such as DmC before he left the Capcom; though there's no proof for the latter it wouldn't be a stretch.
He's been exploiting his name to try to peddle shit nobody asked for, simply because he cares more about the bottom line. Like holy shit he was trying to fund a MN9 cartoon before the fucking game was even out the door.

Can he still make great games?
The answer for this question is the same for yours OP
>>378528315
He didn't. He created the design for the character, but he had zero influence over the game design.
He created the character, not the game

>He created the design for the character,
He didn't even do that. Inafune joined the team late, long after the cast was already created. Akira Kitamura (planner/director/artist/programmer, he did a bit of everything) made the design. Inafune just did the promotional artwork afterwards.

Well then, he has less credit than what I thought.
I'm guessing he is another case of mediocre game designer who made great games afterwards because he was surrounded by more talented people that did all the work for him.
Kinda like Itagaki

He was just an artist/producer. He got all the credit because he was self-promoting, and doing all the interviews with magazines. Kind of like Iga.
>Inafune's rep tanked because of this
LOL
