what's the state of killing floor 2? did that ever get out of early access? It seemed like they didn't put in that many classes/maps for the longest time and people weren't playing it. Sort of worried about this game now. Loved the first KF and I love Ro2/RS... but my card is like 6 years old not sure if it's time to pull the trigger on a new one or not. Everything that i've been looking forward to has had lukewarm reception.

It's "out of Early Access" but the classes (one of which was changed to a shitty class because they rushed it out the door because people were tired of EA) leave a lot to be desired and a lot of the "new maps" pale in comparison to the base 3-4 maps.

Outside of commander and SL, no. That being said it takes practice to get decent with them and learn the best spots to use.

A good example would be as a VC MG is to go to the riverbed at the southern point of the map on Song Be (I think it's that one), marksman can also be used there by either team. You can seriously rack of some kills and destroy any push in that area.

RPG's and knee mortars all day. But seriously, used to play a lot of "milsim" (while the field was pretty lax, everyone played seriously trying to win but for the most part didn't act like military, there were some tryhard faggots here and there but most people were pretty normal) paintball and on a lot of the vietnam scenarios playing the Vietnamese was a lot more fun with different toys, free rice hats, and better objectives. Playing opfor was always usually more fun no matter the scenario.

Even had a Starship Troopers scenario where the "bugs" (we had our guns, no special tard rules there) would pop out of holes in a base or something, IE they'd hide some of us in a base before the game started and after a time limit we could come out shooting. Infantry had these guys walking around with a stick and a bunch of people holding a rope to simulate dropships, looked gay as fuck but was effective. Same thing with choppers in any of the vietnam/modern day games. We had real cars and shitty makeshift apc's for land vehicles though. One of the games we used a bunch of pickups for helicopters though, would have been the We Were Soldiers game.

I was getting 80-100FPS at max settings in closed beta on a 1070/6700k although closed beta had a memory leak or something that slowly degraded performance until I restarted. Seemed to have been fixed in the last beta though. You should definitely be able to get 60FPS on max or at least all high.

The optimization in the last beta was still pretty shit. On full servers certain maps were stuttering and going as low as around 40fps. Hopefully they improved it for the release.
