Then after finding the real vault-key, they have to destroy hyperion's shield, get through their defenses, and recruit brick, which makes sense really.
Then when they finally kill Angel, and Jack teleports behind Roland, Lilith is captured, and they are FORCED to save her. Are these guys even vault hunters?
Then Jack opens the vault, but it isn't really a vault since the Warrior just comes out of the lava? And when you beat him weapons just come out of nowhere?

Five steps for a good Borderlands game.

1. Drop the cuckoldry.
2. Make the AI not braindead fucktards who are only challenging because they're bullet sponges.
3. Have a plot that makes actual sense and takes itself at least semi-seriously.
4. Bring back Jack either as a questgiving NPC or a playable Vault Hunter. It makes sense because in Tales the old one eldritch aliens are looking to gather Pandora's best warriors and Jack is arguably the toughest Vault Hunter we've ever seen. Plus he was the only remotely good thing in 2 and PS.
5. Kill. Lilith. Either ourselves or let Jack do it, preferably.
5.5. Kill Moxxi while we're at it.

What did you guys think of the BL2 DLC classes? I just started a mechromancer, spent over an hour suffering through cringeworthy tutorials until I unlocked her skill tree, and then realized it's just some dumb robot that you summon to fight for you. None of the skills seemed very good or interesting. Does it get better from here or should I ditch it?

Dameon Clarke, Jack's VA, was asked in a Q&A at Comicon (or some other event) if he was working on any other video games, to which he replied he was working on "something that he wasn't allowed to talk about yet." A lot of the Q&A questions were related to Borderlands, and Borderlands is the main game Clarke's done work for aside from DBZ fighting game dubs, those games being no secret when they've come out in the past. This was also after Tales from the Borderlands' last episode was announced and well into the game's release, so it wouldn't be that either. With the end of the PS and Tales stating that the Ayyliens are looking for Pandora's best warriors to join them in their fight, I'm banking strongly on Jack making a return. He's the fan favorite and probably the biggest icon of the series next to the Psycho. It'd also bring a very interesting dynamic if you could also play as old Vault Hunters, especially if the aliens also brought back Roland. The interactions between characters could finally have deeper meaning and impact, Roland being forced to work with his mortal enemy who did in fact end up killing him and beating the shit out of his girlfriend, and the two ultimately reconciling as comrades in battle or remaining enemies even after the major threat is dealt with. Plus, Jack's WAY too powerful for the aliens to not at least attempt to revive if that's their plan. No other ordinary human has ever needed an entire army of bandits and vault hunters to take him down, and no other ordinary human has kicked as much ass as he has.

In general, the manufacturer gimmicks hurt the gameplay more than it enhanced it with the added variety. A lot of them became largely impractical, not even taking into account Slag mechanics. Shotguns were just hurt the most.

Less jokes, honestly. The first game was fun with a friend, but the second game was trying so hard to be funny it just became embarrassing to play.

Borderlands 2 feels like the video game version of those people who feel the need to chase every sentence with a joke. The people who absolutely MUST be the funniest person in the room at any given moment and so they dedicate every ounce of energy to trying to achieve that position.

That said, I wont be buying BL3 anyway. It could be a literal 10/10 game, perfect balance between jokes and meaningful dialogue, funnest gameplay ever made, but it still wouldn't make up for what Gearbox done to Alien. Battleborn's flop wasn't quite enough of a failure for me to forgive Gearbox either, so if BL3 seems worth playing, I'll pirate it (and I haven't pirated a game since Dead Island).

Borderlands 1 and Tales from the Borderlands level writing with the quality of life features from Borderlands, and bring back laser weapons from the Pre-Sequel.

Or at least, balance it better. When you're constantly headshotting enemies and you're still firing the same amount of shots as if you were hitting them in the chest with a pistol gets dull really, really fast.

Infinite ammo. Fuck all of these ammo pickups littering the ground, just let us use the weapons we want and clean up the clutter. In fact, make most weapons infinite, and then you can differentiate normal guns and super guns for which you'll only find ammo in small quantities.

I'd rather have three or so simpler active skills on short cooldowns than one on a long cooldown that doesn't really amount to much most of the time.

For example, the Grenade button could become a skill. Put grenades on a cooldown instead of being a pickup. Each character gets their own grenade skills, modifying the type of grenade they have equipped and the way their grenade works.
